Background

Founded in the city of Viseu, AR Júnior has an already long industrial tradition,standing out for its positioning on the ventilation and air-conditioning systems market.

The company was initially established in 1984 with the name of Armando Rodrigues Júnior, its founder and current managing partner. At that time, it operated in a small workshop and it divided its activity between the production of equipment for air diffusion and the production of dies and cutters, lathing services, mechanical assemblies and moulds for rubber, amongst other services in the scope of metallomechanics.

In the subsequent years, it grew considerably, generating the need to move to premises with greater capacity and a better strategic location. Hence, in 1995 Metalomecânica A.R. Júnior, Lda. was founded located in the Industrial Area f Mundão, a prime business location.

It is worth stressing that in 2007 the process was commenced to implement a Quality Management System, in accordance with the Standard NP EN ISO 9001:2008, having been successfully completed in August 2009.

At that same time the company altered its business name, ceasing to be called Metalomecânica A.R. Júnior, Lda. to become just AR Júnior, Lda. This change is supported by the fact that the strength and strategic point of company operations is actually the production of equipment for air diffusion, having ceased for some time now to provide services in terms of metallomechanics. Consequently, the need arose to define a new positioning, leading to the creation of a new corporate image with a more, dynamic, modern design.

At present, AR Júnior has a consolidated presence and believes that the key to its success lies in the creation of relations of mutual commitment with its partners, the ongoing improvement of its products, the search for new solutions, equipment and technologies, as well as an increase in investment in R&D activities which, along with a competent work force, allow it to respond competitively to market demands.
